We are based in the UK, and we sell high-quality jewellery, individually designed, crafted and produced by highly-skilled artists and craft-makers from around the world, such as Bali, Java, and Thailand. All of our silver, gold, and platinum items are tested and hallmarked by

, regardless of where they originated from.

Pre-Sale Inspection:
Regardless of where the item is sourced from, before any item is shipped to you it goes through our United Kingdom base and is only then sold to you after we have checked the item for defects or any other problems and double-checked that the final item fits your requirements.

When you pay for our products over the internet, you pay via
WorldPay
, which is one of the world's most trusted Internet credit/debit card clearing agencies (part of the Royal Bank of Scotland Group). Even we do not have access to your credit/debit card details after you have paid - WorldPay simply tell us if your payment has succeeded or failed. Payment is done over a secure connection using the WorldPay site itself during our ordering procedure. The whole ordering/payment process is simple, quick, safe, intuitive, and fully explained at each stage. WorldPay themselves also give you a

against fraud and product/service problems when you use them for payment.
If you have any problems, you can solve them through: us, your credit/debit agency or bank, WorldPay, or our local Trading Standards office. For internet purchases, you really can't get much safer or more secure than with us.

Company Status/History:
Husband and wife team, Simon and Neni Barnaby (creators of Java-E UK) -
Java-E UK was created in July 2002 by Simon Barnaby and his wife, Neni Barnaby, and was/is registered with Birmingham Assay Office (in the UK) in order to have their own distinct hallmark (the sponsor portion of hallmarks) - the letters "Ja" surrounded by a rectangle.
We have taken a great deal of care to ensure that Java-E UK customers are fully protected. For example:
We use an Internet debit/credit card clearing site/bank that is endorsed by NatWest Bank and which has its own independant protection for card-paying customers.
Every single precious-metal item is fully checked/tested and hallmarked by the Birmingham Assay Office in the UK (even if it's not legally necessary to do so given the item's weight etc) before it is added to our stock.
All of our items are checked for defects/faults and product/order mis-matches at our UK base before being shipped to customers.
Prior to creating Java-E UK, Simon Barnaby was a Senior Analyst/Developer for 14 years, designing, creating and maintaining computer systems, software, and data-structures for a large insurance company which was contracted to Lloyds of London.
Simon's long experience in this industry means that he had to look at various products/services from completely different points of view, ensuring that all aspects of the products/services were catered for, including such aspects as:
Customer-led services (not I.T. or company-led services).
Data Protection Adherence/Customer-Protection.
Ensuring the Integrity of data and processes.
High quality and timely levels of response to customers.
In 2002, after working for the same company for 14 years, Simon made a conscious decision to quit the type of work that he was doing and to focus instead on creating and running his own business. Simon's wife (Neni) had lots of contacts and experience in the Indonesian jewellery and handicraft business, as she originated from Java and later lived in Bali.
Now both living/settled in the UK, Simon and Neni are a husband and wife team who are both working extremely hard to give Java-E UK customers the very high level of service that they need/deserve, as well as giving the Indonesian suppliers/designers a fair share of the Java-E UK profits as part of Java-E UK's fair trade policy.
Simon and Neni welcome any feedback on the business from Java-E UK customers, and always adopt a generous and thoughtful attitude to customers on an individual basis.
The business was created without the use of any loans/debts - Simon used his personal spare cash to create the business and to buy the first sets of products from suppliers. This means that Java-E UK customers have no risk of the business not being able to honour their orders, as the suppliers are paid in advance without any loans or debts being used by the business.
