Java-E UK - Delivery Methods
Safety and Security
We only use reputable world-famous couriers for delivery, and every delivery is fully insured and registered, requiring a signature upon receipt. All products are shipped from our UK base (regardless of where they have been sourced from) directly to you.
Delivery Prices/Costs
All delivery costs (postage, packing, delivery) to your chosen country are included in our standard prices, so you won't have any additional charges made by the courier when you receive the items from us. When you choose your delivery country in the product browser and shopping basket, the delivery prices are automatically calculated and included in the price that you see on the screen. If for some reason you are asked for additional delivery costs by a courier upon receipt, then please let us know and if it was part of the normal delivery process to your address then we will reimburse you for that amount; just make sure you get a receipt/invoice from the courier for the additional charge.
Delivery To Other Addresses
Our ordering page allows you to specify a different delivery address to that of your billing/contact address. However, if you have the items delivered to an address other than your billing/contact address, then we are not liable for the items after they have been delivered to that address. By designating a different delivery address to the billing/contact address, you accept liability for any loss/theft/damage of the items which occurs after they have been delivered. You can choose any delivery address/name that you like; it doesn't have to match your billing/contact address. For example, if you are always at work during the day, then you could have it delivered to a trustworthy friend or family member etc. Also, you can have it delivered directly to someone as a gift. Your receipt will be issued to your billing/contact address, the items that you ordered are sent to your shipping address (which you enter at the time of placing the order, and can change after placing the order as long as it hasn't already been shipped).
Pre-Delivery Check and Tracking
All orders are manually double-checked against your original requests before they are sent to you to make sure that your items are exactly what you requested and are not damaged or faulty in any way. The details/progress of all pending orders are manually checked every day to ensure that no orders take longer than is reasonable. We will let you know if we have trouble obtaining your items so that you can then decide if you wish to cancel the order (at no cost to yourself) or if you wish to wait until the item becomes available. Your order details are available for you to view on-line, and the status of every order is checked and/or updated at least once every day, so that you can see at any time exactly what stage your order has reached. If the courier has given us a reference number for you/us to be able to check the courier's status of the package, then that will also be included in your order details, along with a link to view the courier's status directly over the web (if provided by the courier).
Personal Delivery
If you live relatively locally to our secure stock location or one of the trade fairs that we attend etc, then we may make a personal delivery to you instead of using a courier. In such instances, we will reimburse your postage/packing/delivery costs (and the corresponding VAT) in whole or in part (depending on the distance/cost of our personal delivery) to you when we deliver your items to you. None of your rights are effected in such instances as we would be acting purely as a delivery service and not as the seller of the items. (i.e. accepting the goods when we deliver them personally to you will not effect your right to cancel or any other of your rights that we offer or any of your statutory rights). For the purposes of the UK distance selling regulations, when we personally deliver the items to you, we do not consider them fully "accepted" by you, so your cooling off period is still valid. If your order is a particularly expensive one (i.e. the products' costs, not the delivery costs), then it's much more likely that we will make a personal delivery even if you are not nearby to ensure first-hand that your items do not get damaged or go missing with a courier. If you specifically want us to make a personal delivery but you're not local (e.g. if it's urgent and you want an immediate door-to-door delivery without the risk of a third-party courier), then just let us know and we'll be happy to help. As with all aspects of our products/service, we are flexible and happy to talk to you about your individual requirements/situation.
